A little about Breck -
Have you read the story of Jonah and Nineveh in the Bible? Yeah, that's kind of me and education. With a healthy fear of any sort of public speaking in high school, I decided I was going to go into Christian education where I wouldn't have to be in front of people...... not the greatest logic. Over the course of earning my bachelors in education and administration including a lot of practice, maturation, a full year of internship, and most likely some divine intervention, I found that not only was I comfortable teaching in front of groups, but I loved it.
After 5 years teaching in the church, I decided it was time for a change and earned my real estate license towards making my millions..... in July of 2008..... I survived. In that time I also found my way back to teaching in 2010, this time teaching real estate licensure and continuing education classes.
Eventually finding a desire to focus more on education, I moved to a local credit counseling agency. With certifications from the NFCC, Neighborworks, and the HUD Housing Counseling Certification, I worked with a wide variety of class participants teaching everything from basic financial literacy to focused homebuyer education. Through this time I continued with the real estate education on the side.
In short, I've taught everyone from preschool through senior citizens and everywhere from a college classroom to the state prisons.
And now I've found my way back to the real estate industry.
Currently, as a REALTOR® licesnsed in South Dakot and Iowa and Responsible Broker at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Beyond, I have the opportunity to impact the growth of an amazing team of Realtors and their clients. I serve as a State Director for the association and am on the MLS Committe for the Realtor Association of the Sioux Empire.
But real estate and education are only part of my life. A husband and father of two, I spend a fair amount of time following my kids and participating when I can. I am involved in my church, volunteer as staff at church camp, crew for the high school show choir, am an Assistant Scout Master for my son's Scout troop, and am on the board of directors for Levo Credit Union. I love being outside and you can often find me behind a camera shooting anything from nature macro to abstract architecture.
There are so many stories to go with this kind of history, but we will save those for in class.
